Born of brotherhood is this pale craft beer with a fruity aroma. Marco and Matteo welcome us to the production laboratory of Fratelli Casalini Brewery in the Pesa Valley. We are just a few miles from the historic Chianti region, where the pairing with wine is as automatic as it is seemingly uncontroversial.
The two brothers have equally taken up this challenge and enthusiastically embarked on an adventure that requires experience and innovation. Today, craft beer is increasingly in demand and consumers have become very discerning. In order to produce a beer with its own specific identity, the brewery performs neither filtration nor pasteurization in order to preserve the organoleptic characteristics of the product and bring out its aromas.
They both recognize that malt and hop productions are finally developing in Italy, two fundamental materials that before now have always been imported from other countries. Today, however, it is possible to produce a craft beer completely made in Italy.
The label of their beers plays with the four colors of historic “Calcio Fiorentino”, a tradition that spread as early as the 16th century. And which is still celebrated today in the beautiful setting of Piazza Santa Croce.
To create the label graphics, students from the Liceo Artistico in Florence were involved, who came up with a logo made in the shape of a hot air balloon. The fascinating flying machine invented at the end of the 18th century by two brothers, Joseph and Jacques Montgolfier, of all people. A product, that of Fratelli Casalini, which has all the prerequisites to take flight, like their craft beer with its fragrant and fruity taste.
